Counseling Services offered in Texas

For in-person talk therapy, the main office is located in Simonton, Texas, 410 Cowhide Dr, 77485, within the Valley Lodge community. You can find the office straight down the road from Fred Reyes Nursery where they specialize in succulents! If you’re a plant lover this might be dangerous or therapeutic depending on how you look at it!

Another option for in-person sessions, including all groups and therapeutic yoga, is Bella Yoga and Wellness in Richmond, Texas, just at the edge of the Pecan Grove neighborhood on Plantation Drive. The studio is located in the shopping center across from James Bowie middle school on Harlem road.

In-Person Therapy

Is this the right option for you?

There are many benefits of meeting your therapist in person in an office, outside at a park, or even at a yoga studio! Wellness Unwritten offers all of of the above in-person options. If you find yourself getting caught inside your own thoughts, possibly spiraling into stories or assumptions, a change of scenery can be a profound way to stop those thoughts in their tracks. So simply meeting another person who will maintain your safety and privacy, outside of your own home can be it’s own therapy.

Allowing space to connect to another person without the screen can aid in learning how to build a relationship and grow in social cues. We gain a familiarity with people when we are able to be with them in the same space that we often don’t receive through an online platform.

The in-person option also allows your therapist to do more enhanced somatic practices for symptoms of anxiety. For example, demonstrating movement and mindfulness exercises that aid in regulating your nervous system. While these practices can be demonstrated online as well, being in person with your provider allows the experience to be felt on a more enhanced level.

On-line Therapy:

Find out if this is the right option for you. Here are some of the benefits of online therapy:

Convenience - Are you a busy mom who rarely seems to find time to herself? Or maybe a college student who is already working tirelessly online to complete assignments. Or maybe you’re struggling to leave the house due to anxiety or PTSD. Sometimes getting help from the privacy of our own homes gives us the sense of safety we need. If the pandemic gave us anything positive, it is access to more convenience by utilizing online platforms more and more. Now more than ever people are able to receive the benefits of therapy with the touch of a button.

Feeling ill? - Even if you usually opt for being in person, having an online therapy option allows us to continue with therapy, even when we are not feeling our best. Whether that is mental fatigue, overwhelm, or just a head cold. This option allows us an opportunity to not be alone when we are feeling our worst.

Location issues - Do you travel a lot within the Texas area? Are you in a location not close to the Wellness Unwritten office but interested in services? Maybe you’re in a location that becomes congested with traffic during certain times of the day?

Online therapy has taken some scrutiny in the therapeutic world, but in my work I have found it to be a light for so many people who would not have otherwise received therapeutic aid in their lives. The way it works is through email. You will be set up with a secure and private link, sent to your email that only you can access from a private space in your home.

If you’re ready to try therapy, but struggling with time constraints, stress from parenting, relationships, and many more responsibilities that are keeping you from making that move forward, online therapy might just be your answer. This option can give you a sense of control over your own schedule. This option will offer a convenience and flexibility that you might be looking for. If you’re still on the fence, please know you are not alone. Make today the first day of putting your mental health first.
