Get to know your Provider

Like some weird gravitational pull, I have always known I was meant to be in the wellness field. From a young age I wanted to help others navigate the same things in life I was trying to navigate. While working in the service industry as a barista and a bartender in my twenties, I found a love for hearing peoples’ stories. Like reading biographies, our personal stories are fascinating tales of triumph and heart ache. And, I was completely wooed by the idea of finding tranquility amid chaos, so I began my journey into the wellness field by studying and working as a massage therapist for 12 years. I discovered the importance of taking care of ourselves physically and mentally. During that time I put myself through school, and received my Bachelors degree in English and creative writing. However, after my graduation, I found my path taking me to unexpected places. As life tends to do. I was met with grief and heartache. I cared for my mother while she fought cancer and after her passing, decided to travel to India in search of healing. I stayed for a month in an Ashram, and studied Yoga and meditation. After years of massaging and teaching yoga, I found myself in Montana where I returned to school and earned my Masters degree in clinical mental health. Now I like to put all of my experiences together; my love of listening to the stories of others, my appreciation for the written word, my belief in mindful living, and my ability to offer nurturance and compassion. I believe every experience is a teacher and we are all capable of insurmountable strength and courage. This is what I like to help my clients discover within themselves.

My specialty is using talk therapy or therapeutic yoga as a means for personal empowerment which not only comes from my training, but from experience. For years I have worked to empower both women and men to discover assertiveness, boundaries, and confidence. With these skills, I have helped people to overcome crippling anxiety.

My other specialty is grief counseling. Also, from my own experiences as well as training, I have guided people from all backgrounds through their unique and personal experience of loss. Losing a loved one is life altering for those of us left behind. Greif never leaves us, but our container that holds it can grow much wider.

I am licensed in Montana and Texas. Currently teletherapy only for Montana and both in-person and teletherapy options for Texas residents.

Is this right for you?

While I have experience working with a variety of clients, my area of specialty is therapy for grief and personal empowerment. I often find both grief and anxiety to be interconnected with many different life experiences. Some of these are traumatic and leave us reeling in the aftermath, some are difficult life transitions, and others stem from experiences rooted in our past. Regardless of where, what or why, there are ways to overcome and move past symptoms of anxiety and deepen our sense of empowerment. There are ways to heal after profound loss. This is my area of focus. If this sounds like something you would like to talk about, click the link below.

A few of my in-session interventions involve mindfulness and grounding exercises, breath techniques, building boundaries and cognitive behavioral skills. I often incorporate creative writing and art as well as somatic experiencing for nervous system regulation. I like to help clients build self-awareness and a deeper emotional intelligence, which helps increase resilience and our overall sense of well-being. I am happy to answer any questions to see if this is the right fit for you.
