For Montana residents
If you’re located in Montana, I offer online therapy options. What does this mean? And is this right for you?
Online therapy is a wonderful and convenient way to engage in counseling services. All you need is an internet connection, either a computer or smartphone, and a private and safe place. Often people believe the computer screen is a disadvantage in therapy, but I have found it to be quite the opposite. I have many clients who have worked with me through a virtual platform for years. If anything we have found the screen to be an added avenue of safety. Being in a therapy session can feel vulnerable, with the aid of showing up from the comfort of your own space, that vulnerability can feel less overwhelming. And a computer screen can add an extra layer of felt protection. This has helped people open up even more than they might have while sitting in an office in-person.
If the stress and chaos of life; parenting, traffic, work, finances, relationships, and other responsibilities are causing a sense of overwhelm, online therapy can help you take a breath on your own time and within your own schedule. It offers flexibility and a sense of control that you might be searching for.
Some people might gain more of an advantage being able to connect with someone in person. If this is something that is part of your therapy goals, then online might not be right for you.

It depends! Every person seeks therapy with different goals in mind. However, it has been my experience that virtual therapy offers much of the same benefit as in-person therapy. My specialties focuses on empowerment tools for anxiety, burn-out, and overwhelm, as well as grief counseling. For these specifically, you will not be missing out if you use an online platform.
